S. Noyonshakhi Devi is a distinguished Indian classical dancer specializing in the Manipuri dance form. She commenced her formal training in Manipuri dance in 1970, enrolling at the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy. There, she received comprehensive instruction from several renowned Gurus, mastering the intricate techniques of Manipuri Classical Solo dance. Her career saw her become a leading artiste within the Academy's Ballet unit, where she performed under the guidance of Shri Th. Chaotombi Singh. Devi has played significant roles in over twenty dance dramas produced by the Academy, directed by eminent Gurus such as R.K. Priyogopalsana, Thiyam Tarunkumar, and Thingbaijam Babu. For two decades, she notably portrayed the lead role of 'Radha' in the Academy's Raas Leela productions. Her performances have graced numerous stages across India, including the Golden Jubilee Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Solo Dance, Solo Dance Festivals of Manipur State Kala Akademi, Silver Jubilee of India's Independence celebration, and various festivals in cities like Khajuraho, Konark, Bangalore, New Delhi, and Jaipur. Internationally, she has represented Indian culture at the Festivals of India in France (1985), U.S.S.R. (1987), and Germany (1991). Her global engagements also include the Seoul International Folklore Festival (1986), Festival of American Folk Lives (1976), 5th International Theatre Festival in London (1989), Asian Games in Seoul (1986), and the Path Marak Multicultural Festival in New York (1998).
