Oksana Rasulova, born on December 19, 1982, in Shabran, Azerbaijani SSR, is an Azerbaijani dancer, choreographer, and actress, widely recognized for her contributions to Indian classical dance, particularly Bharatanatyam. She began her journey in Indian classical dance during her childhood after moving to Russia, where she started learning Bharatanatyam. Rasulova is noted as "Azerbaijan's only professional performer of Indian dance with the right to teach in a choreographed high school." Her career in dance began actively in the 1990s, and by 1999-2005, she had won various competitions and toured extensively across CIS countries, including Russia. In 2001, she established the "Chandra Muthi" dance group, marking her official foray into choreography and teaching. She also founded the "Indian Dance Studio" (also known as "CHANDRAMUKHI") in Baku, Azerbaijan, where she continues to teach and promote Indian dance forms. Rasulova's talent has been recognized internationally; she secured 1st place at the "International Indian Dance Competition" in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 2008, and at the Indian cultural festival "Divali 2009." In 2014, she gained significant popularity by winning Zee TV's "India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj," a talent show for aspiring actors. The same year, the Indian Embassy in Azerbaijan honored her with the "Goddess of dance" statuette prize. Her commitment to cultural exchange was further acknowledged in 2017 when she was selected as the Ambassador for Yoga in Azerbaijan by the Indian Embassy. Beyond dance, Rasulova is also an accomplished actress and producer, having founded "Oksi Media" production center in 2015. She is based in Baku, Azerbaijan.
