Padma S Raghavan is a distinguished figure in Indian classical dance, primarily known for her expertise in Bharatanatyam. She is a very senior student of Shree Bharatalaya, a renowned institution for Bharatanatyam. Her training and association with Shree Bharatalaya have been foundational to her career. Raghavan previously established and managed Silambam, an alliance of Shree Bharatalaya, in Indore. This venture allowed her to extend the reach and teachings of her parent institution to a different region. Currently, she serves as a senior teaching staff member at Shree Bharatalaya, contributing to the training of new generations of Bharatanatyam dancers. In addition to her role at Shree Bharatalaya, Padma S Raghavan also runs her own dance school, Silambam, located in Mylapore, Chennai. Through Silambam Mylapore, she continues to impart her knowledge and passion for Bharatanatyam, offering training and conducting recitals. She is actively involved in teaching, choreography, and performance, as evidenced by her YouTube channel which features content related to Bharatanatyam art form, learning, teaching, and performance clippings.
