Pallabi Basak Vijay is an eminent Odissi dancer, choreographer, and teacher with 29 years of experience in the field, as of 2026. She is a dedicated disciple of Guru Smt. Poushali Mukherjee and has also received training under Guru Smt. Sutapa Talukdar. Basak Vijay is a recipient of the prestigious National Scholarship under the Government of India, Ministry of Culture, and the Sanjukta Panigrahi Memorial Award. Her career has seen extensive performances both nationally and internationally, gracing stages at renowned events such as the Konark Festival, Mukhteshwar Festival, International Odissi Festival, Naveen Kalakar, and Uday Shankar Festival in India. She has also represented Indian classical dance globally through collaborations with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), touring South America in 2010 and performing in Bangladesh at the Dhaka National Museum and Muslim Hall in Chittagong in 2012. Additionally, she performed at the Banga Sammelan organized by NABC in Las Vegas, USA. Currently based in the UK, Pallabi Basak Vijay leads "Nrityadhee London Odissi," an initiative dedicated to promoting and nurturing the Odissi dance form.
