Dr. Parinita Shah is an accomplished Kathak dancer, teacher, and choreographer, known for her dedication to Indian classical dance. She began her Kathak training at the age of six under the tutelage of Shrimati Ashhatar, continuing for over 14 years. Further enriching her artistic journey, she became a disciple of the esteemed Asha Joglekar and received guidance from the legendary Kathak maestro Birju Maharaj. Dr. Shah holds a Nritya Alankar from Akhil Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and a Masters in Kathak (Nrityanka from Gandharva). Beyond her dance expertise, she is also a qualified neuro-physiotherapist. Her career as a performing artist spans over two decades, during which she has performed at prestigious events such as the NCPA dance festival, Talagora Arts Festival, and Elephant Festival. She frequently collaborates with fellow Kathak artiste Vaidehi Parashurami, a partnership that has flourished for more than 20 years. Dr. Shah is deeply committed to promoting the performing arts and is the founder and creative director of Inner Edge Converge, an NGO dedicated to this cause. She is also a respected educator, teaching Kathak at Ajivasan in Mumbai for over five years as of February 2022, where she imparts a blend of the Jaipur, Lucknow, and Banaras gharanas. In addition to Kathak, she is proficient in other dance styles including Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Latin Ballroom, and Folk. Awards & Honours: Best Actress award, Best Actress award.
