Payal Ramchandani is a distinguished Kuchipudi dancer and choreographer with 27 years of experience in training and global performances. Her rigorous training began at the age of four in Delhi under celebrated Gurus Raja Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy. She further honed her skills with revered Gurus Jayarama Rao and Vanashree Rao, and is currently under the guidance of Gurus Jaikishore and Padmavani Mosalikanti in Chennai. Ramchandani performed her Rangapravesham (debut) at the young age of nine. She has performed extensively across the globe at major national and international festivals, conferences, and charity events, with international tours including the Netherlands, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Mauritius, Canada, and the United Kingdom. She is an empaneled artist with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and a graded artist with Doordarshan. She is also closely associated with SPIC MACAY, promoting awareness of Kuchipudi in schools and colleges across India. As a choreographer, Payal Ramchandani is known for her sensitive and creative work that balances tradition with modernity. Her innovative choreographies leverage traditional Kuchipudi vocabulary to address contemporary and socially relevant themes. Notable works include 'Of love & lament', 'Ramayana', 'Once in a blue moon', 'Just Enough Madness', and 'The Forest Dream'. She founded Mrija Dance Studio in the United Kingdom to promote Kuchipudi among diverse nationalities and age groups through classes, workshops, and performances. Based in Newcastle, North East England, she is recognized as a flag-bearer for the form in the region.
