Pranamya Suri is a distinguished Kuchipudi artist, physician, and arts educator, recognized for her ability to blend tradition with innovation and service. Her journey in Kuchipudi began at the age of five, under the tutelage of her mother, Srilatha Suri, who was a disciple of Padma Shri Dr. Sobha Naidu. Pranamya further honed her skills with advanced training from Sri Jaikishore Mosalikanti and Padma Shri Dr. Sobha Naidu herself. She is celebrated for her eloquent grace, precise movements, and a delightful style that reflects her profound love for the ancient art form. Her performance career spans across major cities in the U.S., including New York, Los Angeles, Houston, and Washington D.C., and extends internationally to countries such as Belgium, Cambodia, Taiwan, Fiji, and Amsterdam. In India, Pranamya has graced esteemed stages at the Konark, Khajuraho, and Chidambaram Natyanjali festivals, as well as the Diaspora Festival (Chennai), Margazhi Utsavam (Bengaluru), and Kuchipudi Pathaka Swarnotsavulu (2024). Her performances have garnered critical acclaim, with The New York Times noting her combination of vitality with sweetness and the fluidity of her intricate footwork. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Pranamya Suri maintains a career as a practicing physician, specializing in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine. She seamlessly integrates compassion from her medical practice into her artistic endeavors. She co-founded a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, initially known as Echoes of India and later rebranded as HEART (Healthcare-Education-Art), dedicated to addressing fluoride-related health issues in rural India and fostering cultural initiatives. Through this organization, she has established water purification plants and medical clinics, including the first medical clinic in Kuchipudi Village. Pranamya currently serves as the Creative Director of Natyanjali Kuchipudi Dance School, where she plays a pivotal role in mentoring the next generation of dancers.
