Pranaya Sheela Akula is an accomplished classical dancer and the founder and director of Pranavam School of Dance, a leading institution in New Jersey dedicated to teaching Bharatanatyam and Bollywood dance forms. Classically trained in Bharatanatyam for many years under Ms. Shakuntala Devi, her talents were further nurtured by Mrs. Anjali Nandan, and she is currently under the mentorship of Archana Vyasam. Pranaya has lived in the United States for many years, where she has also been exposed to international dance forms at the Carolina Dance Capital and the Charlotte Dance College in Charlotte, North Carolina. She has participated in numerous Indian festivals and events in North Carolina. Her teaching experience extends to India, where she worked as a dance instructor at Oakridge International School. Pranaya Sheela Akula established Pranavam School of Dance with a vision to master dance education and provide exposure to various dance forms through instruction, patience, and care. The school aims to make dance accessible through storytelling, fostering natural, artistic, versatile, and creative qualities in its students. Pranavam School of Dance offers classes for children and adults in locations such as Princeton Junction, Plainsboro, Princeton, Piscataway, Monroe, and Robbinsville, New Jersey. Pranaya emphasizes enjoying the steps and flow of dance, rather than just hitting a pose. She has also attended various dance workshops and dance therapies, exploring new concepts of care through dance elements.
