🪔 About
Pranita Choudhry is a Bharatanatyam dancer who has been immersed in the classical Indian dance form for over two decades. She is a dedicated disciple of Padmashri Guru Geeta Chandran, under whose tutelage at Natya Vriksha in New Delhi, India, she received comprehensive training in Bharatanatyam theory, practice, and aesthetics. Choudhry marked her formal solo debut, or Arangetram, in August 2011. Her career as a Bharatanatyam artist includes extensive performances both in India and internationally. In India, she has graced the stages of prestigious festivals such as the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas in Kerala, the Neemrana Music Festival, and the Rajasthan Tourism Festival, often performing as part of Guru Geeta Chandran's Natya Vriksha Dance Company. Since 2017, Pranita Choudhry has continued her artistic journey in the UK, where she has performed at various events and festivals. Notable among these was the Independence Gala at the Royal Albert Hall in 2017, where she performed alongside Guru Geetha Sridhar of Natyasri dance school in London. She also presented a Bharatanatyam Recital at the Nehru Centre in London in September 2018. Beyond her dance career, Choudhry is also recognized as a talented dance photographer, having practiced this art for over 13 years and captured many eminent artists across India and the UK. She holds an M.A in Development Studies from the University of Sussex, UK, and works as an International Development professional with charities and not-for-profit organizations. Additionally, she is a writer with experience in Bharatanatyam in both India and the UK.
