Prasanna Jeer is an Indian dancer and choreographer specializing in Indian classical, Bollywood, and Traditional South Indian folk styles. He began his dance journey at the age of five. He has participated in various talent shows aired on Vijay TV in India and has performed in numerous dance musicals and contemporary plays across India and the USA. Prasanna Jeer is currently furthering his training in the Tanjore tradition of Indian classical Bharatanatyam dance at the Mythili Dance Academy (MDA) in Peoria, under the guidance of Artistic Director Rama Suresh. As a principal dancer and choreographer for MDA, he contributed to productions such as "Shakuntala-The forgotten Ring" in 2014 and "Shadow of the Swan" in 2016, also serving as Assistant Director for the latter. He was also involved as an Assistant Director, principal dancer, and choreographer for "In the 'Tale of Anklets'" in 2018. His performance experience also includes appearances in Peoria Ballets and Central Illinois Ballet's productions of "The Nutcracker." In 2018, Prasanna Jeer founded the PJ Dance Academy in Peoria, Illinois, where he serves as the Artistic Director. The academy offers instruction in Bharatanatyam, Bollywood, Contemporary, and traditional South Indian folk dance styles. Outside of his dance career, he works full-time for Deloitte and has been a volunteer for Easter Seals since 2013.
