Prathibha Ramaswamy is an acclaimed Indian Bharatanatyam dancer, educator, and arts curator, recognized for her compelling stage presence, expressive abhinaya, and rhythmic precision. She holds an "A" grade accreditation from Doordarshan and is an empaneled artist with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and SPIC MACAY. Her academic background includes a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Bharatanatyam from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Human Development from Bangalore University. Prathibha began her Bharatanatyam training at the age of five under Smt. Padmini Hariharan. After moving to Bengaluru at age ten, she continued her advanced training under renowned gurus Dr. M. R. Krishnamurthy at Kalakshithi, where she later served as a senior teaching faculty member for over two decades. She also received training from Sri Sheejith Krishna, Sri Mavin Khoo, and studied Karana and Natya Shastra traditions under Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam and Smt. Gayathri Kannan. To further refine her expressive abilities, she underwent specialized training in the "Navarasa Sadhana" actor training module developed by Kutiyattam exponent Guru G. Venu. Beyond her performing career, Prathibha Ramaswamy is deeply involved in arts administration and education. She founded the Abhijnaa Arts Foundation, an institution dedicated to training and nurturing young Bharatanatyam dancers. She has also contributed to the curation and organization of national-level classical dance festivals, being associated with cultural organizations like Ananya for two decades. From 2002 to 2008, she served as an "A" grade empaneled artist under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, undertaking extensive travels for her artistic endeavors.
