🪔 About

Praveena Vadapalli is a prominent Bharatanatyam dancer, guru, and choreographer based in India. Her early training in Bharatanatyam began under Natyacharya Late Sri Avasarala Rukmaji Rao in Visakhapatnam. After a break, she continued her dance journey under the guidance of Smt. Mridula Anand and was later mentored by Smt. Madhavi Marellapudi, with whom she has also collaborated on several choreographies. Vadapalli further deepened her academic understanding of Bharatanatyam by pursuing a post-graduation from Sastra University in 2013, followed by another post-graduation from the University of Hyderabad in 2019. She received specialized training in Karanas from the esteemed Padma Vibhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam. Currently, she continues to refine her skills, learning Nattuvangam from Vidwan D.V. Prasanna Kumar and Abhinaya from Dr. Anupama Kylash. Before dedicating herself fully to dance, Praveena Vadapalli worked as an engineer in multinational IT firms like MindTree and Deloitte for 15 years. In 2015, she made a conscious decision to pursue her passion, founding Nrityopachara, her school of dance. As a graded Doordarshan artist, she has performed on prestigious stages both in India and internationally. She is also a trained yoga teacher, incorporating its principles to enhance her students' flexibility, posture, and balance. Beyond teaching, Praveena Vadapalli is a trustee of Bhartiya Kala Samskruti, under which she curates "Nrityam Samarpayami." This platform, launched in 2016, provides opportunities for budding young artists under 20 years of age to perform solo in various classical dance forms. Her institute, Nrityopachara, encourages students to appear for graded examinations with the Akhil Bharateeya Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya Mandal and certificate/diploma examinations at Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University.
