🪔 About

Preeti Banerjee is an accomplished Indian classical Odissi dancer. Her journey in Odissi began in her native Kolkata, where she received initial training under Smt. Arpita Venkatesh. She further developed her artistry through intensive training under the esteemed guidance of Guru Aloka Kanungo and is also a dedicated disciple of Guru Sharmila Mukherjee. Throughout her career, Preeti Banerjee has graced numerous prestigious national and international dance platforms. Her performances include appearances at renowned festivals such as the Konark Dance Festival, Mukteshwar Festival in Orissa, the Soorya Festival in Kerala, the Kala Ghoda Dance Festival in Mumbai, and the Uday Shankar Dance Festival in Kolkata. On the international stage, she has represented Indian culture as an ensemble member of the Sanjali Centre for Odissi Dance, performing for significant events like the 'Festival of India' in Tunisia, organized by the Ministry of Culture, India, and the Indian Embassy, Tunisia, as well as for the Republic Day Celebration in Seychelles, organized by ICCR. Preeti Banerjee's talent has been recognized with the "NRITYA SHREE" award, which she received at the Cuttack Mahotsav, an event organized by the Utkala Yuva Sanskrutik Sangh in Cuttack, Orissa. Academically, she holds a graduation degree from Calcutta University and has been awarded a certificate of excellence by the Department of Parliamentary Affairs. Her solo Odissi recitals delve into traditional Odissi pieces of devotion, exploring the sacred geometry, sculptural, and expressive qualities inherent in the style. She presented an Odissi recital at the C.D. Deshmukh Auditorium, India International Centre in Delhi in September 2017, and another recital titled "Prasthiti - A Journey" in Kochi in June 2025.
