Priya Atkins commenced her Bharatanatyam training at the age of five, initially studying under Karthika Ganesh and Sudha Panchangam. Her dance education continued from 2016 onwards at Laasya, an academy founded by Guru Smt. Mridul Burgi in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Laasya, established in 2009, aims to share the richness of Indian culture through Bharatanatyam and has trained over 100 students. Over the years, Atkins has performed at various competitions and cultural festivals across Calgary, Red Deer, and the Yukon, receiving recognition for her dedication and skill. She also serves as a student-teacher at Laasya, where she shares her passion for Bharatanatyam with younger students. Her early guru, Smt. Karthika Devi Ganesh, is a gold medallist and the founder and artistic director of Shakthi Shetralaya Dance School in Calgary.
