Smt. Priya Manoj is a highly respected Indian classical dance teacher, performer, and choreographer, specializing in Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi. Born in Malappuram, Kerala, India, she began her dance journey at the age of six. She received her initial Bharatanatyam training under Guru Surendran Padavur and Kalamandalam Sridevi Gopinath, mastering the Kalakshetra style. Her Mohiniyattam training was under Kalamandalam Sujatha, in the Kalamandalam style. Priya Manoj performed her Arangetram in 1989, during her eighth grade. She holds a Masters in Literature and an MFA degree in Bharatanatyam, and has also worked as a literature teacher in Abu Dhabi for 16 years. In 2003, Priya Manoj founded and became the Director of Bharathanjali Dance Training Centre in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with additional branches in Mussafah. The academy is dedicated to preserving and promoting Indian classical dance traditions, offering structured training in Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi to students of all ages. As a performer, she has graced various stages across the UAE and India, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh. She has choreographed numerous dance programs for prominent Indian community organizations in Abu Dhabi, such as the Indian Embassy, Indian Social Centre, Kerala Social Centre, Malayalee Samajam, Kerala Arts Loving Association, and Shakthi Association. Priya Manoj's choreographic works include her first Bharatanatyam production, 'Navarasamayan,' based on the Navarasas of Lord Krishna, and the Mohiniyattam solo production 'Krishnaa,' launched in July 2017. She is recognized for her dedication to nurturing talent and instilling cultural values through dance. Awards & Honours: Kalathilaka Pattom, Dr. Abdul Kalam Smrithi Award (2016).
