Proneeta Swargiary is an Indian dancer, choreographer, and instructor, renowned for winning the fifth season of the popular dance reality show "Dance India Dance" (DID) in 2015. Born on June 23, 1996, in the Baksa district of the Bodoland Territorial Region, Assam, her family later relocated to Delhi, where she became a resident. She completed her Bachelor of Arts program from Maitreyi College, Delhi University, in 2014, and also attended The Assam Valley School in Tezpur. Swargiary is a versatile dancer, trained in various forms including Kathak, hip-hop, contemporary, and Bollywood styles. She is also proficient in traditional Bodo dances such as Bagurumba and Mwsaglangnai solo dance. Prior to her victory on DID Season 5, where she was part of "Punit Ke Panthers" and mentored by Punit Pathak, she worked as a freelance performer at the Kingdom of Dreams. Her journey in reality television also includes participation in "India's Got Talent" and "Dance Champions." In 2015, Proneeta was awarded the "Sunheri Taqdeer Ki Topi" trophy and a cash prize of Rs 5 lakhs for her triumph on DID Season 5. She has also showcased her talent in the film industry, appearing as a dance performer in the 2016 Bollywood movie 'Banjo.' Beyond performing, Swargiary is a dance instructor and choreographer, conducting workshops, including those in Assam in 2018 to raise funds for the Bodoland Children Home.
