Pusthakam Ramaa is a highly acclaimed Indian classical Carnatic vocalist, lyricist, composer, and producer, renowned for her significant contributions to music and dance. Hailing from a musical family, her initial training was under her mother, Indira, followed by guidance from Vidushi Nagamani Srinath and Sri R.K. Srikantan. She is recognized as a Top Grade Artiste of All India Radio (AIR) in classical vocal, devotional music, and light music. Ramaa is a highly sought-after dance vocalist, having provided vocal accompaniment for eminent dancers such as Kelucharan Mohapatra, Hema Malini, Adeyar Lakshman, C.S. Chandrashekhar, Prathibha Prahlad, Swapna Sundari, Vyjayanthimala Bali, and Vasundhara Doraswamy. Her versatile voice and deep understanding of classical music allow her to capture diverse moods and characters, making her an exceptional accompanist for dance. Beyond performing, Pusthakam Ramaa is a dedicated teacher, offering one-on-one classes to students in India and internationally via Skype, and has mentored many to become concert-level musicians. She is also a prolific producer of music and dance features, including the musical dance ballet 'Sri Ramanuja Vaibhavam' and a musical drama on 'Bangalore Nagarathnamma'. Ramaa founded and leads the organization Sangeetha Sambhrama, through which she promotes art by organizing international music and dance festivals, such as the annual 'Nirantharam' festival in Bengaluru, showcasing established and emerging artists. She also organizes workshops, like the 'RUPASAJJA' makeup workshop for dance performances.
