Smt. Kalamandalam Radha Marar is a highly accomplished and senior Indian classical dancer, renowned for her profound expertise in both Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam. She is a distinguished graduate of the illustrious Kerala Kalamandalam, which is now recognized as the University of Performing Arts by the Government of Kerala. Her rigorous training in Mohiniyattam was undertaken under the tutelage of the late Guru Chinnammu Amma and Guru Smt. Kalamandalam Satyabhama. For Bharatanatyam, she received comprehensive instruction from esteemed masters including Guru Tanjavoor Bhaskara Rao, Guru Pantanelloor Swaminatha Pillai, and the late Guru K.J. Govindarajan. Radha Marar is the visionary Founder Director of "Kala Madhuri" (Regd.), a prominent institution based in New Delhi dedicated to the appreciation, promotion, and imparting of Indian classical dances and music. The society was officially registered under the Societies Registration Act in 1976, marking the beginning of her significant contribution to arts education. Since its inception, she has been a primary driving force, providing excellent standard training to hundreds of students in these classical forms. As an accomplished performer, Smt. Radha Marar has captivated audiences with her performances across India and internationally, consistently earning high appreciation from dancers, critics, and art enthusiasts alike. Her commitment extends beyond performance into a dedicated teaching career, where she has been a well-versed guru imparting training in Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam for several decades. Her teaching legacy is notable, with senior disciples such as Bharti Shivaji and Deepti Omcherry Bhalla having become well-known dancers in their own right. In addition to her leadership at Kala Madhuri, Smt. Radha Marar holds the position of Head of the Department of Performing Arts at Laxman Public School in New Delhi. She also serves as a Resource Person for various institutions under the Government of India, further extending her influence in the cultural and educational sectors. Her extensive contributions to enriching the cultural scene, particularly in the capital, have been recognized with numerous felicitations and awards.
