Radhika Phanse is a distinguished Indian classical Kathak dancer, performer, teacher, choreographer, and the founder-director of Navras Art Academy. An accomplished Kathak performer, she has over 100 solo and group choreography shows to her credit. Phanse is known for her innovative approach, blending traditional Kathak with contemporary styles and semi-classical music. Her unique technique, "Navras," reinterprets the nine sentiments traditionally depicted through mythological stories in a contemporary Kathak framework. Phanse received her training under Guru Smt. Asha Joglekar (Post graduate in Kathak dance form) and has also trained under renowned exponents such as Pandit Birju Maharaj (Lucknow Gharana), Pandit Rajendra Gangani (Jaipur Gharana), Dr. Kanak Rele (Nritya Abhinaya), and Smt. Indumati Lele (Folk Dance). She founded Navras Art Academy in 1997, initially as Navras Nrityalaya, primarily focusing on Kathak. The academy has since evolved into a multi-disciplinary art institution, offering various Indian and Western dance forms, and aims for holistic development. Through her academy, Phanse has trained a large number of students, including some deaf and mute individuals. She is also a panel judge for Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and has judged competitions on television channels, schools, and colleges. Radhika Phanse is an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). She continues to perform at various events and art festivals across India, with notable performances at RANG SWAR (Chavan Centre, Mumbai), KALABHARTI (Karnatak Sangh), and NCPA (2007 and 2026). Her choreographic works include pieces based on selected Shlokas from the Bhagwat Geeta and "Maharashtrachi Lokdhara" for TATA CANCER HOSPITAL's international conference.
