🪔 About

Vidushi Radhini Rao is an accomplished Bharatanatyam artist, versatile choreographer, and Carnatic vocalist, known for her dedication to preserving and promoting Indian classical arts. She is an exponent of the Pandanallur style of Bharatanatyam, having undergone over two decades of rigorous training under Guru Dr. Kripa Phadke. She presented her Rangapravesham in 2011 and continues to refine her artistry under the mentorship of Vidwan Sri Vijay Kumar of Chennai. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Radhini Rao holds an academic background as an engineer and possesses a Master's in Carnatic Vocal Music from the Music University, Mysore. She also works as a Global Process Engineer at Scania AB. Radhini Rao is the founder of Kalaashaala, a cultural institution based in Sweden dedicated to nurturing and promoting authentic Indian classical arts. Kalaashaala offers structured training in Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music, aiming to provide students with a deep understanding of the art forms' history, theory, aesthetics, and spiritual dimensions. Her performance career includes appearances on distinguished stages at IIT cultural festivals, the Dubai International Conference, Nada Laya Vinyasa in Göteborg, Namaste Stockholm, and the Stockholm Sangeetha Festival. Her artistic work has also gained international recognition through its feature in the film "The Dance Battle," curated by the Dance Museum. Radhini Rao has also conceptualized and performed in productions such as "Antaryatra," a soulful journey through India's seven sacred cities, presented through Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music. She is married to Sri Arun Kumar Sathyanarayanan, a Carnatic vocalist, and together they are committed to fostering a culturally enriching environment.
