Raji Valluri is a dedicated and enthusiastic Indian Classical Dancer, teacher, and choreographer, known for her contributions to promoting Indian classical dance in Canada. She commenced her dance journey at an early age, graduating from the Venkateswara Natya Brindam Dance School in Andhra Pradesh, India. Valluri further honed her skills in Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of the renowned dance exponent Sappa Satyanarayana of Andhra Pradesh. Throughout her career, Raji Valluri has performed extensively in India, Canada, Belgium, Germany, and the United States. In 1988, she founded the Natyaraji School of Dance in London, Ontario, with the mission to preserve and nurture the Dances of India and promote South Asian art and culture among Canadians. The school offers training in classical Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, and folk dance forms, with a curriculum designed to integrate the vitality of Indian dance with Canadian society. Valluri is noted for her personal interest in each student, striving to inspire them to develop a love for the art form. Since 1992, Raji Valluri has also been teaching Dance and Yoga at the University of Western Ontario. She and her students have performed for various schools in London, promoting multiculturalism and reaching out to diverse communities. Her efforts in dance have been recognized by the City of London and the Province of Ontario for her significant community contributions. The Natyaraji School of Dance has graduated forty students through Arangetram, the traditional debut performance.
