Ranudi Nagahawatta commenced her Bharatanatyam journey at "Manu Kala Mandir," where she received initial guidance from Smt. Sudha Thakkar. In 2015, at the age of eight, her parents further fostered her passion by enrolling her in Laasya, a Bharatanatyam dance company in Calgary, under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Mridul Burgi. Her dedication and talent were quickly recognized, enabling her to advance rapidly through various batches, supported by additional classes. Over the years, Nagahawatta has performed extensively at numerous cultural events and competitions across Calgary, showcasing her development as a Bharatanatyam artist. Her relationship with Guru Smt. Mridul Burgi has been instrumental in deepening her understanding of the art form through rigorous training and a profound Guru-Shishya bond. Bharatanatyam has played a significant role in shaping Nagahawatta into a disciplined, hardworking, and culturally rooted individual. She celebrated her years of unwavering dedication to this classical dance form with her Arangetram in November 2023. She is also listed as a teacher on NatyaNetwork.
