Guru Smt. Rashmi Sudheendra is a revered and accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher, known for embodying the grace and precision of the Pandanallur style. Hailing from Mysore, Karnataka, India, she was introduced to dance at the age of three by her parents, Sri. Nagaraj and Smt. Susheela Nagaraj. Rashmi underwent extensive training for over 12 years under the legendary Guru Dr. Vasundara Doraswamy, mastering both technique and expression of Bharatanatyam. Her dedication to the art form is evident in her academic achievements, including securing the first position in the prestigious Bharatanatyam Vidwath program and completing a senior certification in Carnatic vocal music. Throughout her career, Rashmi Sudheendra has been a prolific performer. She participated in numerous dance dramas choreographed by her guru, earning widespread acclaim. She has presented solo performances at prominent festivals across India, including the Dasara Mahothsava in Mysore and national festivals in cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Hampi. Internationally, she was selected by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Indian International Rural Cultural Center (IRCEN) to perform in various countries, including Thailand, China (Beijing, Xian province, Shanghai, Harbin), and Hong Kong. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Rashmi also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from the University of Mysore and a Master's in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix. With over three decades of experience as both a performer and teacher, she moved to the United States more than ten years ago (as of 2016). In 2013, she established the Navaranjitha Performing Arts Center (NRPAC) in New Jersey, where she serves as the Founder and Artistic Director. NRPAC has become a beacon for Bharatanatyam education, imparting deep knowledge to over 100 students across various locations in New Jersey, including Franklin Park, Hillsborough, Montgomery, and Monroe Township. Rashmi Sudheendra's profound contributions to Bharatanatyam, coupled with her ability to inspire the next generation, solidify her status as a leading Bharatanatyam teacher in the United States.
