Sadhana Paranji is a renowned Indian classical dancer, teacher, and choreographer specializing in Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam. She received her training under esteemed gurus such as Padmashri Saroja Vaidyanathan, Dr. Uma Rama Rao, and Dr. Nataraja Ramakrishna. She holds a Gold Medal in MA (Dance) from Telugu University, Hyderabad, India. Paranji was a recipient of a Government of India scholarship for furthering her studies in Indian dance and has been accorded the status of a 'Grade A' artist by the Government of India. She migrated to New York in October 1992 and established Sadhanalaya School of Bharatanatyam & Kuchipudi Dance in December 1992. With over 1000 performances to her credit, she has choreographed and performed in several productions, including "Shiva Parvathi Kalyanam," "Dasavataram," "Mahashakthi," "Om Namaha Shivaya," "Sri Venkateshwara Sringara Lahari," and "Navadurga." She also conducts workshops and lecture-demonstrations at various educational institutions, museums, and libraries such as the American Museum of Natural History, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Carnegie Hall, Queens Museum, and the Brooklyn Museum. In collaboration with Smt. Janaki Patrik, she promotes Indian art forms and culture in New York City public schools. She also teaches Indian classical dance at the U.N. International School in Queens, New York.
