Samadrita Basu is an Indian classical Odissi dancer, performer, and teacher. She began her journey in Odissi at a very young age, performing her first Odissi dance at three years old. She received early training under Guru Hare Krishna Behera in New Delhi. Later, she continued her training in Odissi under Guru Sohini Biswas for five years, starting in 2016. Basu is also pursuing a Bachelor of Performing Art in Odissi Dance. Her career highlights include performing for former US President Barack Obama at the Rashtrapati Bhavan during his first visit to India, where she presented an amalgamation of Odissi, Kathak, and Bharatnatyam with her guru. She has participated in various competitions and festivals in Kolkata, earning recognition for her talent. In 2020, she achieved the All India and Global 3rd position in Odissi Dance and was awarded a gold medal in the same year. Currently, Samadrita Basu is active as a performing artist and also imparts training in dance.
