🪔 About
Samiksha Diwakar is a prodigious Indian classical dancer specializing in Bharatanatyam, who began her training at the age of four. She receives online tutoring from her aunt, Guru Smt. Chithra Muralidharan. Based in Warrington, UK, Samiksha has quickly gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and dedication to the art form at a very young age. At six years old, Samiksha was recognized by the International Book of Records for being the youngest artist to perform a Varnam, which is the longest and most intricate piece in a solo Bharatanatyam repertoire. On March 30, 2024, at 6 years, 10 months, and 8 days old, she set a world record by performing a Bharatanatyam Varnam for 21 minutes and 30 seconds. She further achieved a World Record for performing a 23-minute varnam at the age of seven. In December 2024, Samiksha made her Margazhi debut in Chennai, India, where she presented a full 6-piece Margam, a traditional solo repertoire typically spanning around 90 minutes, including a 25-minute varnam. Her performances, showcasing choreographies by Smt. Chithra Muralidharan to Guru Madurai R. Muralidaran's compositions, have been lauded for combining technical precision with expressive storytelling. She has performed in various cities including Manchester, London, Paris, Bangalore, and Chennai. Awards & Honours: World Record for Youngest Artist to Perform a Varnam (2024), LONGEST TIME TO PERFORM BHARATNATYAM DANCE (KID) (2024), Young Icon Award, Bala Narthaki, Awaaz Arts Youth Achievement Award (2024).
