Sandhya Muralidharan is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer and dedicated teacher, primarily based in Bangalore, India. Her journey into the world of Bharatanatyam commenced at the tender age of seven, with her initial training taking place at the Chitra School of Performing Arts in Bangalore. She further honed her skills and deepened her understanding of the classical form under the guidance of Vidhushi Smt Mamatha Karanth. Demonstrating a continuous commitment to artistic growth, Sandhya Muralidharan is currently engaged in advanced training in both Bharatanatyam and Karanas, studying under the esteemed Guru Rukmini Vijayakumar. Additionally, she has received specialized training in Karanas from Vithya Arasu. Throughout her career, Muralidharan has graced numerous prestigious stages across India, showcasing her artistry and dedication to Bharatanatyam. Her talent and contributions to the dance form were formally recognized in 2015 when she was bestowed with the National Nritya Mani Award at the Annual Cuttack Mahostav in Orissa. She was also an integral member of the acclaimed Raadha Kalpa Dance Company, contributing to its performances and artistic endeavors. Expanding her artistic repertoire, Sandhya Muralidharan also explores and studies Contemporary dance, Yoga, and Pilates. A significant milestone in her career was the premiere of "Sārthika," her maiden production, which she co-created with her friend Pritika in early 2020. Committed to nurturing the next generation of dancers, Sandhya Muralidharan has established and currently directs her own institution, the "Shambahvi School of Dance," where she imparts her knowledge and passion for Bharatanatyam.
