Sandra Jasmin is a Bharatanatyam dancer, performer, and teacher based in Bergisch Gladbach, near Cologne, Germany. She also performs and teaches Indian folk dances and Bollywood dance. Jasmin has an extensive background in Bharatanatyam, with foundational knowledge in Charya Nritya (classical Nepalese dance) and various Indian folk dances. Her primary teachers include Madhavi Mandira (Germany), Smt. Vanishree Ravishankar (India), and Sri P.T. Narendran (India). She performs solo and as part of various ensembles at numerous events and shows in Germany, India, and internationally. Sandra Jasmin emphasizes collaborations with visual artists and live musicians, as well as contemporary interpretations of Indian dance. In addition to her dance career, she works as a research associate and doctoral candidate in the Department of Asian and Islamic Art History at the University of Bonn, where she regularly conducts seminars on Asian dance forms. Her own productions include the evening show "Ein Ausflug in 1001 Nacht" (Kirchentag Köln) in 2007, "Indischer Tanz" with musician Ojas in 2012, and "Indian Dance" with Ruby Jayaseelan in 2014. She has also presented lecture demonstrations such as "Bharata Natyam - A Cultural Translation" (SGEM Hofburg Wien) in 2016 and performed "Bharata Natyam Performance" with Madhavi Mandira in 2018.
