Sangita Das is a certified Indian classical dancer proficient in Kathak and Bharatanatyam. She received her foundational training and certifications from the Sura Bharati Sangeet Kala Kendra Academy of Fine Arts. Her academic journey in dance saw her complete two diplomas in Kathak, one in 2000 and another in 2003. Subsequently, she expanded her classical repertoire by earning a diploma in Bharatanatyam in 2012. After a period dedicated to academic pursuits and a hiatus from dance following her marriage and relocation to the USA, Sangita Das rekindled her passion for performing arts. In 2024, she took on a volunteer position as a dance teacher at the Jersey City Tamil School, where she successfully prepared groups of children for their annual event and also performed alongside other teachers. This experience, coupled with positive feedback, inspired her to further her dance career. Currently, Sangita Das serves as a Kathak and Bollywood Instructor at Shehnaaz Dance Academy (SDA) and actively instructs students within her community in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA.
