Sanhita Basu Ghose is an accomplished exponent of Odissi, a major classical Indian dance form originating from Odisha. Her dance is characterized by its tribhangi (three-bend) posture, fluid movements, and lyrical quality, deeply rooted in ancient temple traditions. Ghose is a distinguished disciple of the late Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, the late Guru Sanyukta Panigrahi, and Guru Muralidhar Majhi. She holds a "Sangeet Prabhakar" degree in Odissi dance from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, where she achieved a first-class ranking and secured the second position nationwide. Sanhita Basu Ghose founded the Konarak Odissi Dance Academy in Chennai in 1998, with the primary objective of imparting comprehensive training in Odissi dance, from basic techniques to advanced depths. She has performed extensively at major cultural festivals and sabhas across India, and her international performances, facilitated by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and Tagore Centre, UK, have taken her to countries including the USA, Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, Peru, China, Nepal, and the UK. Ghose has been actively performing Odissi for two decades, with her first solo performance dating back to 2006. She is also a choreographer, having presented notable works such as Rabindranath Tagore's "Chandalika" and Kalidasa's "Meghadoota."
