Saranya Mohan is an accomplished Indian dancer and former actress, known for her work in Tamil and Malayalam films, as well as her dedication to Bharatanatyam. Born on February 19, 1989, in Alappuzha, Kerala, she hails from a family deeply rooted in classical dance; her parents, Mohan and Kalamandalam Devi, are trained classical dancers and teachers who operate the Y.K.B Dance Academy in Alappuzha. Saranya received her initial Bharatanatyam training at her parents' academy and furthered her education by earning an MFA in Bharatanatyam from Annamalai University, Chidambaram. Her talent for dance was recognized early, leading to her debut as a child artist in films like *Aniyathi Pravu* (1997). She later gained prominence as an actress in films such as *Yaaradi Nee Mohini* (2008), *Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu* (2009), *Eeram* (2009), *Velayudham* (2011), and *Osthe* (2011). Beyond her acting career, Saranya Mohan is a dedicated Bharatanatyam exponent. She founded and currently leads the Natyabharati Academy in Kovalam, where she imparts structured training in classical dance forms, including Bharatanatyam. She has also authored a book on Bharatanatyam titled "Natyabharathi". In 2020, she notably taught Bharatanatyam to actor STR. Her sister, Sukanya, is also a classical dancer.
