Dr. Saraswathi Rajathesh is a prominent Indian classical dance guru, performer, teacher, choreographer, and researcher, primarily known for her expertise in Kuchipudi. Originally a dental surgeon, she transitioned to dedicate her career entirely to her passion for dance. She holds Masters degrees in both Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Kuchipudi from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad. Beyond Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam, Dr. Rajathesh is also trained in Mohiniattam, Kathak, and Manipuri dance styles. Dr. Rajathesh is the founder and president of the Natyasaraswathi Kuchipudi Dance Academy, with branches in Bangalore and Hyderabad, India, and also in the USA. Through her academy, she actively contributes to Indian dance and culture by organizing performances, workshops, and lecture demonstrations. She is also the driving force behind prestigious festivals such as Kuchipudi Nrithyotsav, which promotes Kuchipudi in Karnataka, and NrithyaBharathi, a traveling festival showcasing a confluence of eight classical dance forms. These festivals have garnered international acclaim with support from various government bodies. As an empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Dr. Rajathesh has had the opportunity to promote Indian classical dance in 25 countries worldwide. Her contributions extend to serving as a member of the secondary board dance examinations in Karnataka and as a judge for national youth dance festivals. She is recognized as one of the leading Kuchipudi gurus in Karnataka.
