Sarath Varma is an accomplished Mridangam artist with a dedicated career spanning over 15 years in the realm of Indian classical music. His formal training in the Mridangam, a prominent percussion instrument in Carnatic music, began at the age of 12. He received his initial tutelage from Sri. Kudamaloor Sukumaran, a renowned musician and teacher hailing from Kerala, India. Sarath Varma marked his official debut with an Arangettam in 2007, a significant milestone in his artistic journey. Since then, he has performed at various prestigious venues and events, showcasing his talent both within India and in Germany. He continues to refine his artistry and expand his musical knowledge and repertoire under the guidance of his guru, Sri Cherthala N Sreekumar Varma. Sarath Varma is deeply passionate about promoting the rich tradition of Mridangam and actively contributes to its growth and evolution. Beyond his musical pursuits, he holds a professional role as a semiconductor design engineer, currently working for a multinational corporation in Munich, Germany. He is also associated with the Thakajum Indian Dance & Music Academy, where he performs on their behalf.
