🪔 About

Satya Pradeep is a prominent Indian classical dancer and choreographer, recognized for her expertise in both Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dance forms. Born in Chennai (formerly Madras), India, a region celebrated for its rich artistic and cultural heritage, she received extensive training from eminent gurus. For Bharatanatyam, she was trained in the Vazhuvoor style by Padmabhushan Kamala Narayan and Smt. R. Rhadha. Her Kuchipudi training was under the tutelage of Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam, and she continues advanced training under Guru Sathyapriya Ramana. In 1991, Satya Pradeep established her dance school, Nritya Saagaram, in New York, with the aim of propagating these classical art forms within the community. The academy, based in Long Island, New York, focuses on Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi, following the traditional Guru-Shishya (teacher and student) tradition. She has personally trained numerous students, with over 50 having performed their Arangetrams (dance debuts). Throughout her career, Satya Pradeep has given numerous solo and group performances in both the U.S. and India, earning various accolades. Her performances have graced prestigious venues such as the United Nations, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Newark Symphony Hall. She is also actively involved in conducting lecture demonstrations and workshops at various educational institutions and community organizations, promoting cultural awareness through dance. Her work has been recognized with grants, including a noteworthy grant in 2024 from the New York State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts for her thematic theater production 'Panchabhoota – a journey through the five elements of nature'. She has also been featured on Channel 7's Eyewitness News in New York for one of her presentations. Awards & Honours: Grant for 'Panchabhoota – a journey through the five elements of nature' (2024).
