Seema Krishnan is a distinguished Kathak dance artiste, teacher, and choreographer based in Bengaluru, India. With over two decades of dedicated experience in learning, teaching, and performing, she has established herself as a significant figure in the Indian classical dance landscape. Krishnan holds a Visharad in Kathak and is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in the same discipline. Her foundational training in Kathak was meticulously guided by Gurus Sri Hari and Smt Chethana Hari. She formally marked her entry into the professional world of Kathak with her RangManch Pravesh in 2016, held at the prestigious Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bangalore. As a performer, Seema Krishnan has graced numerous renowned stages across India, notably as part of the Noopur Performing Arts Center ensemble. Her artistic reach extends internationally, with performances at events such as the Indian Dance Festival in Holland. Beyond her performing career, Krishnan is deeply committed to the propagation and preservation of Kathak. She is the Founder and Artistic Director of Krishnam Performing Arts Academy, located in Thanisandra, Bengaluru. This institution serves as a nurturing ground for aspiring dancers, where the art form is imparted in its purest essence. She has also dedicated her efforts to teaching Kathak to underprivileged children for several years. In addition to her contributions to classical dance, Seema Krishnan holds a leadership position at a global IT firm in Bengaluru, showcasing her diverse talents. She has also ventured into the cinematic world, making her silver screen debut in the Kannada movie Raandava. To further share her knowledge and passion for Kathak, she maintains a YouTube channel, "The Kathak Floor with Seema Krishnan," which serves as a valuable resource for Kathak lessons.
