Shakti Sanjana Seerala is a Bharatanatyam dancer with a significant presence in the Toronto classical dance scene. Her foundational training in Bharatanatyam commenced at the age of seven in Chennai, India. She further honed her skills under the tutelage of Mrs. Shyalaja Krishnadas in Kochi, where she trained from the age of ten to thirteen. Her pursuit of classical dance continued during her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, where she began training under her current guru, Smt. Nivedha Ramalingam, in 2015. Seerala marked a significant milestone in her dance journey by completing her arangetram in Chennai in July 2018. Throughout her career, Shakti Sanjana Seerala has been an active performer, gracing various cultural events across Toronto. Notably, she performed as part of the esteemed Menaka Thakkar Dance Company for the Kalanidhi festival in 2017. In the same year, she also had the opportunity to participate in "Samagamam," a collaborative performance alongside renowned dancers Shijith Nambiar and Parvathy Menon in Toronto. Beyond her artistic endeavors, Seerala maintains a professional career as an electrical engineer, currently serving as a senior design engineer at Synopsys, demonstrating her ability to balance a demanding technical profession with her passion for Indian classical dance. Her dedication to Bharatanatyam is evident in her continuous training and performance, contributing to the vibrant classical arts community in Toronto.
