Shivani Sriram is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher, and the daughter and devoted disciple of Guru Padmalakshmi Sriram. Her journey into the intricate world of Bharatanatyam commenced at the tender age of seven, where she quickly demonstrated a profound dedication and passion for this classical Indian dance form. Through years of rigorous training under her mother's tutelage, Shivani has honed her skills and emerged as a prominent figure within Lalitha Kalalaya, the esteemed dance school founded by Guru Padmalakshmi Sriram in Brisbane, Australia. Shivani Sriram has actively contributed to the vibrant cultural landscape of Brisbane through numerous performances and her role as an instructor. She has graced various community and fundraising events in Brisbane for the past six years, and has frequently performed at temples during Indian festivals. A notable performance included an appearance in front of the premier for Gandhi Jayanthi. In 2017, she shared the stage with her mother, Smt. Padmalakshmi Sriram, for a Bharatanatyam performance at the Sangeet Mela in Brisbane. A significant milestone in her artistic journey was her Bharatanatyam Arangetram, presented by Lalitha Kalalaya in February 2023, marking her formal debut as a solo performer. Demonstrating her versatility, Shivani Sriram also performed on nattuvangam at the Lalithakalalaya School of Bharathanatyam's fourth Salangai Pooja in July 2026. As an integral part of Lalitha Kalalaya, Shivani Sriram extends her passion for dance through teaching. She has been imparting her knowledge of Bharatanatyam to beginners and intermediate students for over four years, fostering the next generation of dancers. Her commitment and talent have been recognized with several accolades, including securing the 1st runner-up position in Sangeet Mela 2019 in Brisbane and receiving the Dedicated Student Award in 2014. Furthermore, she garnered multiple awards and recognition in school competitions during her formative years in India.
