Shreelina Ghosh-Mukherjee, known professionally as Shreelina Ghosh, is an accomplished Indian classical Odissi dancer, performer, teacher, choreographer, and academic. Hailing from Kolkata, India, she began her Odissi training at the age of four, seriously pursuing the art form from age eleven. She was initially initiated into Odissi by Guru Giridhari Nayak and subsequently perfected her skills over twenty-one years under the eminent Odissi exponent Smt. Aloka Kanungo. Ghosh also delved into the nuances of Odissi Classical Music, studying under Guru Gopal Chandra Panda, and holds a Graduate Diploma in Tagore's music. Throughout her career, Ghosh has performed extensively both as a soloist and alongside her guru, Smt. Aloka Kanungo, at prestigious festivals across India, including the Khajuraho Dance Festival, Uday Shankar Dance Festival, Puri Beach Festival, and Soorya Festival. Her performances have also graced stages in the United States, at events organized by Michigan State University and various Indian associations. A notable choreographic work is her solo production "Panamami Buddham," conceived, written, and choreographed by her, which uniquely incorporates Pali shlokas to express Buddhist philosophy through Odissi. This project was sponsored by the Mahabodhi Society of India. Academically, Shreelina Ghosh holds a PhD in Rhetoric and Writing from Michigan State University. She is an Assistant Professor of English at Gannon University and previously taught at Arizona State University and Dakota State University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of cultural and digital rhetoric, focusing on how technology mediates the practice and pedagogy of traditional performative cultural memory, particularly in Odissi dance. She assists her guru in teaching and choreography in India and also teaches classical dance in Sioux Falls, USA, as a community service. Her website, "Alankara Odissi," indicates her role in educating students in Odissi dance, music, theory, and performance. She was honored with the "Star of Tomorrow Award 2002" by the West Bengal Dance Group Federation and has received other competitive recognitions from the West Bengal State Music Academy and West Bengal Music Circle.
