“Kalabhooshanam” Shrimathy Thirpurasundari Yagonamtham is a distinguished Bharatanatyam dancer and teacher, whose artistic journey is deeply rooted in the revered Vazhuvoor bani (style) of Indian classical dance. She received her rigorous training under the direct tutelage of the legendary guru, “Natya Kala Kesari,” “Isai Perarignar,” and “Padmashri” Vazhuvoor B. Ramaiah Pillai (1910–1991). Vazhuvoor Ramaiah Pillai was a pivotal figure in Bharatanatyam, celebrated for his innovative choreography and for popularizing the lyrical grace, refined movements, and emphasis on bhava (expression) characteristic of the Vazhuvoor tradition globally.
