Shruthi Aravindan is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, Carnatic vocalist, and composer, based in San Jose, California. She is the founder and director of Akruthi Performing Arts, an academy dedicated to teaching Bharatanatyam dance, Carnatic vocals, and Mridangam. Shruthi Aravindan has dedicated over 20 years to Bharatanatyam dance training and more than 25 years to studying Carnatic music. She is recognized as an ardent performer, instructor, nattuvanar, and a budding composer. Her expertise extends to providing vocal support for numerous dance arangetrams and productions. Shruthi Aravindan has performed extensively across the United States and in India. At Akruthi, she and her brother, Akshay Aravindan, who provides percussion and Nattuvangam support, offer a customized approach to their students, aiming to foster independent artists with an emphasis on creativity and improvisation. Outside of her artistic endeavors, Shruthi Aravindan also works as a Staff Systems Engineer at Guardant Health.
