Shubhada Subramanyam is a dedicated Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, and the founder of Nityaa Arts Centre in Munich, Germany. She began her Bharatanatyam training at the age of five under the tutelage of Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy. Subramanyam successfully completed the Junior, Senior, and Vidwat grade examinations, which are equivalent to a Master's Degree, conducted by the Government of Karnataka, India. She was also a scholarship recipient from the Government of Karnataka. With over 35 years of association with her guru and the dance form, Shubhada Subramanyam has been performing since childhood, participating in various dance festivals across India and internationally. She has also performed in dance dramas choreographed by her teacher. After gaining teaching experience at her guru's school, she established Nityaa Arts Centre in Germany to impart classical Indian art traditions. Through her center, she provides regular Bharatanatyam education to children and adults in Munich. Beyond teaching, Subramanyam actively promotes Indian classical dance by organizing high-quality concerts in Germany, featuring veteran artists from India and offering a platform to professional dancers based in Germany. In 2024, she authored a bilingual book in English and Kannada, released to commemorate her guru's 75th birthday, which explores the socio-political aspects of practicing and pursuing this art form.
