Shyama Warrier is an accomplished Indian classical dancer, proficient in both Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam. Her journey in classical dance began at a young age, leading to her arangetram at the age of twelve. She received foundational training in Bharatanatyam from Smt. Suni Venugopal. Her artistic path further deepened with extensive training in both Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam under Guru Rangaprathibha Gireesh. She also had a brief but impactful mentorship in Bharatanatyam with Guru Maalika Panicker in Singapore. Currently, Shyama Warrier continues to refine her art under the guidance of Guru M.K. Giri and Guru P.T. Narendran. She holds a postgraduate degree in Bharatanatyam. In 2015, driven by a vision to share the richness of Indian classical dance, Shyama Warrier founded the Natanam Academy of Dance and Arts in the Netherlands. The academy has since grown, establishing branches in Amstelveen and Eindhoven, and is dedicated to preserving and promoting the authentic heritage of Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam through structured training. Shyama Warrier is known for her captivating performances on esteemed stages across the Netherlands and her involvement in diverse productions.
