Sindhu Kiran is an internationally acclaimed Indian classical dancer, choreographer, and teacher, primarily known for her mastery of Odissi and Mohiniyattam. Her journey into dance began at the age of four with Bharatanatyam and the folk dances of Kerala. She later immersed herself in Odissi, commencing her training in 1991 at Nrityagram, Bangalore, under the guidance of legendary gurus including Padma Vibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra and Guru Protima Gauri Bedi. She further refined her Odissi technique under Guru Ratikanth Mohapatra and Guru Ramani Ranjan Jenna. Her pursuit of classical dance also led her to Mohiniyattam, where she trained under the eminent Guru Kalamandalam Kalyanakutti Amma, considered the "Mother of Mohiniyattam," and subsequently under Guru Smitha Rajan and Guru Bharati Shivaji. To perfect her expressive abilities, Sindhu Kiran specialized in "Abhinaya," receiving extensive training from Guru Kalanidhi Narayan and Ms. Usha Nangyar. With over two decades of dedication to the art form, Sindhu Kiran has performed extensively across India and internationally in countries such as France, Japan, Italy, Russia, Switzerland, and Singapore, captivating audiences with her grace, precision, and soulful abhinaya. An accomplished academic, she holds a Master's degree in Yoga and a Bachelor's degree in Tourism and Travel Management. In 2006, she founded Rudra Nrityayogashala in Wayanad, Kerala, with a branch in Mysuru, serving as a vibrant center for Odissi, yoga, and Indian culture. Through her academy, she nurtures aspiring dancers from India and abroad, focusing on both technique and a deep cultural understanding of the art.
