Dr. Smruti Vaghela is a prominent figure in Indian classical dance, specializing in Bharatanatyam. She currently serves as the Head of the Department of Dance at the Faculty of Performing Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU Baroda) in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. In addition to her administrative role, she is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Dance at the same university. Dr. Vaghela is recognized as a performer and choreographer. She has presented Bharatanatyam at prestigious events such as the Indian Classical Dance & Music Festival Khajuraho. Her choreographic work includes a production titled "DHYANAMAYAM," which was presented by the Department of Dance, MSU Baroda. Through her leadership and teaching at MSU Baroda, Dr. Vaghela contributes significantly to the academic and artistic development of Indian classical dance.
