Smt. Aparna Ram is a distinguished Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, guru, choreographer, and institution head. She embarked on her Bharatanatyam journey at the tender age of five, receiving extensive tutelage under the esteemed guidance of renowned Guru Kalaimamani Smt. Ranganayaki Jayaraman, Director of Sri Saraswathy Gana Nilayam. She also diligently pursues her training with Guru Smt. Padmini Krishnamurthy, the current director of the same institution. Throughout her career, Aparna Ram has graced numerous stages across India, Colombo, Mauritius, and the United States, delivering both solo and group performances. Her notable appearances include the prestigious Konark dance festival, Chidambaram Natyanjali festival, programs of Iyal Isai Ndaga Manram, Chennai Doordarshan, and various esteemed Sabhas in Chennai. She has also been an integral part of many dance productions by Sri Saraswathi Gana Nilayam. In recognition of her significant contributions to the art form, she was honored with the title “Natya Thilakam”. Driven by her passion for imparting knowledge and spreading the art form, Smt. Aparna Ram realized her vision of establishing a dance school in 2002 with the inauguration of Sri Saraswathi Nrityalaya. The institution was formally founded in Mumbai in 2004 and subsequently established in New Jersey, USA, in 2014. Through Sri Saraswathi Nrityalaya, she engages her students in rigorous training, preparing them for arangetrams, stage productions, and providing exposure to various competitions and dance festivals in and around New Jersey.
