Vidushi Smt. Deepa Bhat is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, and choreographer, and the Artistic Director of Nrithya Kuteera, an Academy of Music and Dance. She commenced her formal Bharatanatyam training under Guru Vandya Srinath of Bhramara School of Performing Arts, Bengaluru. Her advanced training was guided by Guru Dr. M R Krishnamurthy, an alumnus of Kalakshetra, Chennai, at Kalakshiti, Bengaluru, where she followed the Pandanallur Kalakshetra style. Smt. Deepa Bhat completed her Rangapravesha in 2002. She holds a BE (E&E), MCA (IGNOU), and an MFA in Bharatanatyam, with her dissertation focusing on "Kannada Bhavageethe and its Adaptation to Dance." In 2004, she established Nrithya Kuteera, a dance and music school in Bengaluru, which has since expanded to multiple branches and teaches over 200 students. She has choreographed numerous dance ballets, including "Dances of India," "Seeta Kalyana," "Vasudaiva Kutumbakam," "Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum," "Daksha Yagna," "Girija Kalyana," "Modalondipe Ninage Gananatha," "Shri Ramayanam," "Navarasa Devi," "Devi Tubhyam Namaha," "Navavidha Bhakthi," and the dance drama "Keechaka." Smt. Deepa Bhat is recognized as a B Grade artist of Bangalore Doordarshan Kendra and the Song & Drama Division, New Delhi. She has also served as an examiner for KSEEB and a judge for various dance competitions.
