Smt. Reshma Rajeev is a distinguished Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, choreographer, and cultural ambassador, originally from Kerala, India. She began her journey in Bharatanatyam at the age of five. After pursuing a degree in English Literature and Mass Communication/Journalism from St. Xavier's College, Kerala, she made a pivotal decision to leave her media career and dedicate herself fully to dance. She underwent rigorous training at the prestigious Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai, where she earned a diploma in Bharatanatyam with first-class distinction. Furthering her academic pursuits, she obtained a Master's degree in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras and is currently a Ph.D. scholar in the same field. Her gurus include Kalamandalam Sumathi, Ravi Kumar Natalia, and Dr. Ratheesh Babu, and she also draws inspiration from Methil Devika. Reshma Rajeev is now based in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, where she plays a vital role in preserving and promoting Indian classical dance. She is the founder and director of Ananthara Space of Arts, a non-profit trust dedicated to nurturing Bharatanatyam dancers. In her capacity as a cultural ambassador with the Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Cooperation under the Indian High Commission in Trinidad and Tobago, she actively bridges cultures through Bharatanatyam. She conducts numerous online and offline workshops globally, engaging both the Indian diaspora and Caribbean students in the art form, having conducted over 30 online workshops and several offline events over the past eight years. Her performances include high-profile events, such as those held during visits of Indian dignitaries.
