Sofía González Herrador is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, and choreographer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She holds a Diploma in Bharatanatyam from the prestigious Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai (2019) and an M.A. in Performing Arts (Bharatanatyam) from the University of Hyderabad (2023), both achieved with distinction through ICCR scholarships. Her foundational training includes a Technical Degree in Oriental Dances from Escuela Provincial de Danzas Nigelia Soria in Rosario (2006) and participation in the Dharmasiswa Program at Institut Seni Indonesia (2010–2012). Currently, Sofía serves as a Local Resource Person at the Embassy of India in Buenos Aires, a position she has held since November 2024. In this role, she teaches Indian classical dance (Bharatanatyam) and Carnatic music, and choreographs and performs for official cultural events. Notably, she choreographed and performed for the welcoming ceremony of the Hon. Prime Minister of India in July 2024. Her performance career includes a solo recital at the Visesha Kala Poshakam Utsav in Chennai (2020) and ensemble performances with the University of Hyderabad (2022–2023). She has also organized and performed at intercultural festivals in Argentina and Spain, and has led workshops and lectures in both countries.
