Sowgandhika Krishnan is a Zurich-based dance and theatre artist, as well as the founder of SKR Entertainment, an entertainment company established in 2017. Her journey in dance began at the age of three and a half, leading her to train in the Pandhanallur Bani (style) of Bharatanatyam for twelve years under Guru Prasanna Nambiar. During her university years, she expanded her classical dance repertoire by training in Odissi under Guru Jhelum Paranjpe. Krishnan also delved into theatre, receiving training from Mr. Aadesh Bandekar. Krishnan relocated to Switzerland in 2010 and staged her inaugural dance theatre production in 2013. Through SKR Entertainment, she produces dance theatre shows, offers theatre-based corporate training, and organizes concerts. She is actively involved in scripting, choreographing, directing, and producing for theatre, focusing on Indian stories presented in a contemporary style with English dialogues. Her extensive work includes nineteen productions, comprising nine full-length and short dance theatre productions, and ten thematic productions. Beyond the stage, Krishnan's choreographic work extends to short films. Her debut dance film, 'Speechless,' garnered a Special Mention Award at the Movie Screen Festival and was nominated for a Festival Award at the Seize the Film Festival. She has also worked behind the camera as a First Assistant Director and Second Unit Director, having studied filmmaking at prestigious institutions such as the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), NFTS UK, and the New York Film Academy (NYFA). Academically, she holds an MBA from HEC Paris and post-graduate certifications from Wharton and SDA Bocconi. Awards & Honours: Special Mention Award, Festival Award Nomination.
