Sridevi Ajai Thirumalai, an acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer, commenced her training at the age of five under the tutelage of gurus Padmini Ramachandran, Narmada, and Rhadha in India. She has performed extensively in both India and the United States, earning accolades for her pure interpretation of classical traditions and innovative choreography. In 1992, she established the Natyamani School of Dance in the Greater Boston area, specifically Westborough, Massachusetts, with the aim of sharing her profound passion for the art form with aspiring dancers. As the Artistic Director, she has guided over 60 students to complete their Arangetrams and currently mentors over 150 students. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes dedication, perseverance, and the pursuit of excellence, fostering a deep love and understanding of Bharatanatyam in her disciples. Sridevi Ajai Thirumalai has also directed and choreographed numerous productions, including "Siva Sakthi," "Nritya Kalai," "Natyanjali," "Om Namo Narayana," and "Kshetra." She frequently utilizes her artistic endeavors for charitable causes, notably fundraising for organizations like Akshaya Patra. Awards & Honours: Best Dancer Award, Senior Government of India Scholarship, NATYA THAPASVINI, Grant from Southern New England Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program (2008), Mass Cultural Council Finalist in Traditional Arts (2010), Lifetime Achievement Award (2020).
